YOU CAN’T PRAY AWAY EVERYTHING
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: WEDNESDAY 26 MAY 2021
Sometimes, we all have things happen to us in life that we don’t understand, even when we have prayed, did the right thing, but we didn’t get the conforming result. We can only see our situation not changing, but what we can’t see is, we can’t pray away everything.
Many times, we ask, “why is this challenge taking so long? when is it going to turn around?” And it seems God is deaf to our requests, but sometimes God doesn’t remove the difficulty, because He’s using the difficulty to develop and instruct us. He’s getting us prepared for where He’s taking us.
SCRIPTURE: And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. (1 Peter 5:10) ESV
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: If you’ve prayed over a situation, and the situation is not changing, it maybe God is using the situation to change you.
In Judges 3:1-5, after Joshua died, and the Israelites settled in the Promised Land, the Scripture says, “God left certain enemy nations in the land. He did this to teach warfare to the next generation of Israelites who had no experience in battle”. God could have had Joshua wipe out all the opposition, clear the path. But the challenge is, the new generation were not skilled in warfare, they didn’t have the experience, the strength, if war could come, they would have been defeated. So, God had to teach them up, so he left obstacles in their path on purpose.
So Beloved, in your situation, learn to discern what God is actually saying, and know it that you can’t pray away everything. Stay Lifted!
NOTE THIS: If you’ve prayed over a situation, and the situation is not changing, it maybe God is using the situation to change you.
RESPONSIBILITY: In every situation, give thanks to God, for nothing happens without His permission.
PRAYER: O LORD, give me the grace to discern from every situation what You are saying, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)
PROPHETIC WORD: May God’s unfailing grace always show up in your situation, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
