THE FUTILITY OF WORLDLINESS
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: WEDNESDAY, 9 MARCH 2022
The rate and manner at which people seek to be self-enriched in the world these days is demeaning. We don’t care about being fair and honest anymore. People could do anything to get wealth, not minding its gravely upshots and consequences. Even if it means hurting others, engaging in all manner of evil and atrocities, to the extent of taking another person’s life; they don’t care, as long as it brings in money. But today, we are called to the consciousness of the futility of worldliness.
SCRIPTURE: Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. (1 John 2:15) NIV
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: The tail-end of everything we seek in life is happiness. But, beloved, you don’t count on wealth and physical comforts to keep you happy because you will never have enough wealth to keep you from dying (Eccl 1:14). Everyone on earth has one similarity—death. When we die, we leave all that we own on earth, at that moment we are naked and empty before God (Heb 9:27). All the riches we had gathered while on earth would be gone. The only riches we would have at that time are those we have already invested in our eternal heritage (Mt 6:20).
Unfortunately, this is the futility of worldliness (1 John 2:15). All the riches we cheated, duped, and killed to get will not save us. Any wonder Solomon said, “Vanity of vanities, all is vanity” (Eccl 1:2). So beloved, trade your ill desire for worldly riches that ends in the grave (Ps 49:11), for eternal wealth and riches. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Don’t count on wealth and physical comforts to keep you happy because you will never have enough wealth to keep you from dying.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, don’t be too mindful of the things of the world, rather put your trust in God, and invest in the treasures of heaven.
PRAYER: O LORD, give me the grace not to be so mindful of the things of the world. Help me to be heavenly minded, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)
PROPHETIC WORD: As you become so mindful of the things of heaven, may you never get weary, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!

I feel that you simply can do with some % to force the message

A fantastic read. I’ll certainly be back.
It’s hard to come by experienced people in this particular topic, however, you sound like you know what you’re talking about!
