Numbering our days involves recognizing our own mortality. We are reminded that life is fragile, and our days on this earth are temporary. This realization humbles us and prompts us to live with intentionality. It encourages us to mend broken relationships, express gratitude, and align our pursuits with eternal values. Let’s examine the counsel of James in chapters 4:14.

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: The purpose behind numbering our days is not to invoke fear or anxiety, but to guide us toward a life of purpose and fulfillment. When we approach life with the understanding that our days are limited, we don’t live anyhow. We are more inclined to pursue endeavors that please God and matter eternally. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Numbering our days is not an invitation to live in fear of the future, but rather to live in the light of eternity.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, let the urgency of the matter draw us closer to God, and deepens our relationship with Him.
PRAYER: Oh LORD, teach us to recognize our own mortality even as we learn to number our days, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: As we learn to number our days, may we live in the light of eternity, seeking the face of God in all we do, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
