So, as our bodies crave water to sustain life, our souls yearn for God to sustain our spiritual vitality. But how do we quench this spiritual thirst? The psalmist provides us with the answer: “Early will I seek You.” It is in the intentional pursuit of God, in the early hours of the morning or in the quiet moments of reflection, that we find refreshment for our souls. It requires a commitment to prioritize time with God above all else, to seek Him with passion and devotion.
SCRIPTURE: “O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water.” – Psalm 63:1 (NKJV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Therefore, let us heed the psalmist’s call to seek God early and earnestly, knowing that in His presence, our souls find true satisfaction. We find solace in His love, strength in His promises, and joy in His salvation. The things of this world grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: As we earnestly seek God, we open ourselves to the restorative work of God in our lives. He satisfies our thirst with streams of living water, rejuvenating our souls, and renewing our strength.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, dearly beloved, as we seek God diligently, let our hearts echo the cry, “O God, my soul thirsts for You.”
PRAYER: O LORD, as we seek You early, may we drink deeply from the well of living water and never thirst again. In the name of Jesus, we pray, Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: As we seek God diligently, may we find Him and may our souls be nourished by His presence. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
