UNTIL THE GLORY RETURNS (5)

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Sunday, 4 May 2025

Focus: When God Finds a Dwelling Place

Message:

There is no tragedy greater than the absence of God’s glory—and no restoration more glorious than its return. In 1 Samuel 4, the ark was captured, the priests fell, and a child was named Ichabod—a prophetic cry that “the glory has departed.” It was a moment of deep national and spiritual loss. But Ichabod is not where the story ends. God is still searching for altars to rest upon… for lives that burn in holiness… for voices that cry out, “Bring the glory back!” This devotional series is a cry for restoration. A call to rebuild what has been broken. It’s not about performance. It’s not about noise. It’s about His presence—tangible, holy, consuming.

📖 Key Verse:

1 Samuel 4:21 – “She named the boy Ichabod, saying, ‘The glory has departed from Israel.’”

Devotional:

God is not looking for a platform—He’s looking for a dwelling place. He doesn’t want to just visit; He wants to remain. He’s not seeking weekend religion—He desires daily habitation. In Psalm 132:13–14, God declared, “This is my resting place forever and ever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it.” When God finds a life, a heart, a community that is wholly His, He rests there. The glory comes when we become carriers of God’s presence—not just seekers of His hand. He looks for those who host Him with reverence and consistency.

📖 Scripture Reading:

John 14:23 – “We will come to them and make our home with them.”

💧 Refreshing for the Day:

Beloved, a dwelling place is a life that’s not distracted, a heart that’s wholly surrendered, an altar that never runs cold. When God finds such a place, revival becomes sustainable. Not just a moment—but a movement. So, ask yourself: Have I made room for Him to dwell, not just visit? Prepare your life to be a permanent resting place for His glory. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:

God rests where He is reverenced.

🛡️ Responsibility:

  1. Commit to consistent, unhindered time in His presence this week.
  2. Declare that your life is a sanctuary for the Spirit of God.

🙏 Prayer:

Lord, dwell in me. Rest in my heart. Abide in my house. Let my life be a tabernacle where Your glory never lifts. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:

I am not just a seeker—I am a carrier! My life is God’s dwelling place. The glory is not departing—it’s increasing! Alleluia!

📖 Bible Texts:
