THE WORLD IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT CHRIST (5)
TIMES OF REFRESHING DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: SATURDAY, 1 JUNE 2024
Therefore, beloved, having explored and understood this matter and you have rightly believed that indeed the world is worthless without Christ, now let us reflect on the practical things we must do to anchor our lives in the eternal values of God’s kingdom. The number one is personal reflection and shift in perspective. Recognize that worldly achievements and possessions, while not inherently bad, are insufficient for providing true meaning. Shift your focus from accumulating earthly treasures to investing in your spiritual growth and relationship with God.
SCRIPTURE: “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” — Matthew 6:33 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: The second is eternal focus. Embrace an eternal perspective in your daily life. Understand that what ultimately matters is not what we achieve “under the sun,” but how we live in alignment with God’s will and purpose. And the finally, the spiritual daily practice. Incorporate practices that foster a closer relationship with God, such as prayer, Bible study, worship, and service to others. These activities help anchor your life in the eternal values of God’s kingdom. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Worldly achievements and possessions, while not inherently bad, are insufficient for providing true meaning and fulfilment in life.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, all those should never become your ultimate goal. Instead, you should seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness, and you shall find true identity and fulfillment in God.
PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You with gratitude for the many blessings You have given us, including our achievements and possessions. While we appreciate these gifts, we acknowledge that they cannot provide the true meaning and fulfillment that only come from You. Help us to remember that our ultimate purpose and joy are found in our relationship with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
PROPHETIC WORD: May the Lord grant us the wisdom to use our achievements and possessions for His glory, serving others and advancing His kingdom. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
BIBLE TEXTS: Matthew 6:33, Eccl 1:2-3
