Beloved, as we journey through the twists and turns of life, we encounter many voices clamoring for our attention. Voices promising success, wealth, and happiness, but often leading us astray into the wilderness of uncertainty and despair. Yet amidst the noise of competing voices, there is one that stands out above the rest – it is the voice of the Good Shepherd, gentle yet resolute, guiding us along the path of life with unwavering love and care.
SCRIPTURE: “Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice…” — John 10:1-4 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Like a shepherd tending to his flock, Jesus knows each of us intimately. He knows our fears and our doubts, our hopes, and our dreams. He knows the paths that lie ahead, and He calls out to us, beckoning us to follow Him. His voice is not one of coercion or force, but of invitation and love. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Just as sheep instinctively recognize the voice of their shepherd, so too can we discern the voice of Jesus amidst the noise of the world. His voice speaks peace to our troubled hearts, guidance to our wandering souls, and comfort to our weary spirits. It is a voice that leads us beside still waters and restores our soul.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, dearly beloved, in the midst of life’s storms, when the winds howl and the waves threaten to overwhelm us, let us listen for the voice of the Good Shepherd. Let us tune out the distractions of the world and fix our gaze upon Him.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we thank you for being our Good Shepherd, for guiding us, protecting us, and loving us with an unfailing love. In the midst of the noise and distractions of the world, help us to tune our ears to your voice, to discern it amidst the chaos, and to follow you faithfully wherever you lead. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
PROPHETIC WORD: May we, like obedient sheep, heed the voice of our Shepherd and follow Him wherever He leads. And as we journey together, may we find rest for our souls and abundant life in His presence. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
