Yet another secret to experiencing God’s amazing life is by living a daily life of surrender. A life totally surrendered to the will and leading of the Lord. To surrender is to give up your own will when it is not in line with the will of God. It is to step aside and let God take the wheel of your life. It guarantees success, peace, joy, to name a few. God can never fail; His plan is perfect. When we surrender to God’s Will and walk according to His purpose, our lives become failure-proof.
SCRIPTURE: Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. (Matthew 16:24-25 NLT)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Jesus makes it clear in our anchor scripture that to find our lives we must first loose it by giving up our own way. We must surrender our will, our desire and pick up our cross and follow Him. This is not something we do once and for all, rather, surrendering is a daily requirement. Every day we wake, we must make up our minds to give up our own way. To say ‘yes’ to Jesus no matter how inconvenient, demanding or stretching it may be to us. This is a vital key to experiencing God’s amazing life. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Surrendering is not once and for all, it is a daily requirement.
RESPONSIBILITY: Decide today to surrender to the Lord daily to enter into the fullness of the life found in Christ.
PRAYER: Oh Lord, please help me to give up my own way daily, to pick up my cross and to follow you till the end, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: May the Lord give you the grace to surrender daily and may He cause you to experience the fullness of Life in Him, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
