THE SECRETS TO ACCESSING THE HEART OF GOD (4)

So, another secret to accessing the heart of God is being obedient to God and absolute submission to His ultimate Will. Obedience to God is the right key that opens the heart of God and guarantees unimaginable access into the throne of grace. This is also to say that a man who is so obedient to God enjoys uninterruptible access to the presence of God. But note this, no one is qualified enough to have access to the heart of God if he would remain stubborn, arrogant, and defiant to the direction and instructions of God. And that was the case of Saul in 1 Samuel 15.
SCRIPTURE: But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the LORD: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams. (1 Sam 15:22 NLT)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: So, at that time, Saul was the first God-appointed King of Israel. He looked and acted the part. He was known for his courage and generosity. He was tall and striking in appearance. At first, Saul did well. But it did not take long for disobedient to step in, his pride to grow and his reliance and dependence on God to fade. So, when Saul and his army were under attack and afraid, instead of waiting for Samuel to arrive and make a burnt offering to God, Saul took matters into his own hands and made the offering himself.
So, because of his disobedience, arrogance, condescension, and refusal to trust in the Lord, Saul was rejected by God as King and David was chosen in his stead. So, beloved, we are encouraged today to approach the throne of mercy. Ask God for forgiveness for the times we have disobeyed Him and ask Him for the grace to be obedient sons and daughters. PROPHETIC WORD: May the good Lord, forgive us and give us the grace to never disobey Him again, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
