THE POWER OF PRAYER IN DISCERNING YOUR MANDATE (2)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: THURSDAY, 23 NOVEMBER 2023
Prayer is an expression of our faith in God’s ability to intervene in our lives. As we pour out our hearts before God, expressing our desires, fears, and uncertainties, we open the door for Him to speak into our lives. Through prayer, we not only share our burdens with God, but we also position ourselves to receive the divine insight necessary for understanding our mandate.
SCRIPTURE: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” — 1 John 5:14 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Consider the life of our Lord Jesus as a model of prayerful discernment. Before undertaking any significant decision or mission, Jesus withdrew to pray. In the garden of Gethsemane, facing the weight of the cross, He sought the Father’s will through fervent prayer. In doing so, He found the strength and clarity to fulfill His mandate – the ultimate purpose of redeeming humanity. Likewise, as we navigate the complexities of our lives, careers, and relationships, let us not underestimate the transformative power of prayer. Through consistent communion with God, we can discern the nuances of our mandate – understanding the unique ways in which we are called to make a difference in the world. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: In prayer, we align our hearts with God’s will. It is not just about presenting our requests but seeking God’s desires and purposes for our lives.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, as you embark on the journey of discerning your mandate, take time to be still in God’s presence. Engage in heartfelt conversations with Him, laying your dreams, concerns, and aspirations before His throne. Trust that in the quiet moments of prayer, He will unveil the path designed specifically for you.
PRAYER: O LORD, we ask that You open our hearts and minds to receive the revelations You have for us. Remove any preconceived notions or doubts that may hinder our ability to discern Your mandate clearly, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: May the Lord be gracious to us and answer our prayers, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
