THE GIFT OF SALVATION
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: FRIDAY, 20 AUGUST 2021
The greatest gift of all is the gift of salvation, given out of the greatest love of all by the greatest God of all, the almighty God. From the inception of the world, God craves for a relationship between Him and man. It was a sweet experience and nothing to be compared to it (Gen 2:8-15), until sin sneaked in and jeopardized this true affection; and man lost all the privileges he had and inherited curse and death, Gen 4:16-19.
But for God’s immeasurable love for man, He looked upon the man He created, how he was wandering and lavishing in sin, and death (Rom 3:23); and He had great compassion for man. So, in His plan and effort to redeem us, bring us back to Himself, to this first love and restore us to dignity, He gave us this greatest gift of salvation.
SCRIPTURE: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Salvation is an undeserved gift that is received when we place our faith in Jesus Christ and confess Him as our Lord. Beloved, the experience of a fallen man is inexplicably terrible, it’s not glorious at all, and should be avoided at all cost. It’s entirely hopeless and damnation. It’s characterized by guilt and consistent manifestation of sin.
But the gift of salvation is a gift of justification, and by faith, born again believers are justified, (Rom 1:5). The moment we genuinely trust Jesus to save us, we are justified. That means we’re “declared righteous” by God and our sin no longer separates us from enjoying a relationship with Him. We are now seen as “holy” in the eyes of God. When He looks at us, He no longer sees us for our sinfulness, but can see His Son, Jesus Christ, living within us. And most importantly, this gift is FREE for all, but ONLY accessible to those who believe in our Lord Jesus Christ, (Acts 16:31). Stay Lifted!
NOTE THIS: Salvation is an undeserved gift that is received when we place our faith in Jesus Christ and confess Him as our Lord.
RESPONSIBILITY: Believe in Jesus Christ, for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved(Rom 10:13).
PRAYER: O LORD JESUS, I believe that You died for my sins and rose from the death to set me free. Today I turn away from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)
PROPHETIC WORD: Congratulations! May the light of God continue to shine on your ways always, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
BIBLE TEXTS: John 3:16, Rom 1:5;3:23, Acts 16:31, Gen 2:8-15; 4:16-19
