SITUATIONS DON’T DETERMINE YOUR DESTINY

TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org

DATE: SUNDAY, 13 MARCH 2022

We often unintentionally allow our circumstances, conditions and state of affairs deter our efforts to rise higher in life and impede our destiny. Situations are those negative things, and unhelpful feelings you have about yourself. The unfavorable issues of life, what people say about you, and what is not working in your life. Situations are silent killers, and you must deal with it before it deals with your destiny.

SCRIPTURE: It is the Lord who directs your life, for each step you take is ordained by God to bring you closer to your destiny… (Proverbs 20:24) TPT

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: The truth of the matter is you are not defined by people, by your past, by how you are raised; but you are defined by God. You are made in the image and likeness of God (Gen 1:27, Col 3:10); you are perfectly and wonderfully made (Ps 139:14). When God sees you, He sees value and potentials in you, but situation sees your flaws and mistakes. It reminds you how terrible you are. But the good news is situations don’t determine your destiny, God does.

In James chapter 1, the Bible says, “God’s Word is like a mirror”, it reflects who you are, and what God says about you. So, what God says about you is what you need to keep in front of you, and not what the situation says (Eph 2:10). When you see yourself as God sees you, it heals and repairs every damage the situation has caused in your life (Ex 15:26). It may not happen overnight, but when you keep studying to the Word of God, keep obeying the instructions (Josh 1:8), you will begin to see the change in you (Ps 1:1-3). Stay Refreshed!

NOTE THIS: Sometimes, what is limiting you from becoming what God has destined you to be is your inability to see through the Word of God.

RESPONSIBILITY: Situations have never determined anyone’s destiny, they will neither determine yours, but God will.

PRAYER: O LORD, deliver me from every negative situation and increase my hunger for your Word, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)

PROPHETIC WORD: May God deliver you and set you free from every negative circumstance in your life, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!

BIBLE TEXTS: Proverbs 20:24, James 1:23, Gen 1:27, Col 3:10
