SETTING CHRIST-CENTERED GOALS (3)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: FRIDAY, 5 JANUARY 2024
So, beloved, in the process of setting Christ-centered goals, be flexible and remember the importance of surrender. Surrender involves acknowledging God’s authority over our lives and goals. It’s an act of humility, recognizing that God’s plans surpass our understanding. While flexibility is an admission that God may redirect our paths for His purposes. Here, we acknowledge that our plans may not always align with God’s perfect Will, and be open to divine redirection. Proverbs 19:21 reminds us that,
SCRIPTURE: “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” – Proverbs 19:21 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Life is filled with uncertainties and unexpected challenges. Embracing the principles of surrender and flexibility in goal setting build resilience in us. They help us become adaptable to changing circumstances. So, as we set Christ-centered goals, let’s surrender them completely to God, trusting that He knows what is best for our lives. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Surrender and flexibility require spiritual discernment. Seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance in discerning whether adjustments to your goals are prompted by your desires, or God’s leading.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, let us stay open to divine direction, recognizing that God’s ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:9). And be willing to adjust our goals according to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
PRAYER: Oh God, thank You for Your ever faithfulness in our lives. As we set goals for the year, help us to surrender them to Your perfect Will and guide our path as we execute them. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: And may our plans and goals resonate the perfect Will of God, and give us fulfilment, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
