REMOVE WHAT’S BLOCKING YOUR GROWTH (2)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: FRIDAY, 10 JUNE 2022
One thing that can easily stunt and slow down our growth is the people that we’re spending time with. Like it is said, “Association begets assimilation”. We need to evaluate our friendships. The people we’re spending our time with at the office, the neighbor we’re hanging out with. Are they making us better, and inspiring us to reach our dreams? Or are they causing us to compromise, and to be mediocre? Any wonder the Bible says,
SCRIPTURE: He who walks with the wise will become wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed. (Proverbs 13:20 BSB)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Beloved, the truth of the matter is, you’re going to become like the people you continually associate with. If you want to know what you’re going to be like in five years, look at your friends. If they gossip, complain about everything, and are unfaithful in relationships, please do yourself a favor: find some new friends. Such spirits are transferable. Again, the Bible has this to say, “Don’t hang around angry people or you will become angry” (Prov 22:24). What this means is, you will definitely become like whoever you hang around with. If your friends gossip, that spirit of gossip will get off on you. If they are critical, that critical spirit will end up with you. You may not realize it, but they’re blocking your growth, they’re limiting your potential. However, it’s not their fault, but you have to make the change. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Whoever that is not adding into your life is taking from you. Check it and be wise.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, be careful of the people you hang around and spend your time with. Positively evaluate your friendships.
PRAYER: O LORD, help my life. Cause me to discern the people around me and be wise to choose my friends, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and pray for other intentions as the Spirit leads)
PROPHETIC WORD: May the Lord take away from you anyone or anything that stunts your growth and blocks your progress in life, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
