We have established the fact that prayer is vital to the growth of a believer. It is also essential that we seek empowerment by the Holy Spirit for effective prayer. But what exactly does it mean to pray without ceasing and how can we achieve this like our scripture for the day admonishes? Let’s find out.
SCRIPTURE: Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ESV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: To pray without ceasing means to have our minds always on the things of God, to be in constant communication with him, so that every moment may be as fruitful as possible. Pressing into and remaining in the presence of God throughout our day. Maintaining close loop communication with the Lord, talking to Him and seeking to hear from Him even in the simplest detail of our day. To do this, intentionality is key. First, we must plan our prayer times. From the start of our day, through the rest of it, we must be intentional to add times for prayer. Also, start short and simple. Prayer must not always be loud and long, but as we grow, the Spirit empowers us to press longer and deeper.
Until then, keep it genuine and direct. Finally, pray according to God’s will. This is vital to receiving answers to prayers so as not to end up in a frustrated Christian journey. Stay Refreshed!
