LIGHT IN THE MIDST OF DARKNESS
TIMES OF REFRESHING
ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL by Obiorah Prince Emeka
DATE: SUNDAY 13 DECEMBER 2020
We live in a crooked and perverse generation, that is characterized with chaos, sin, confusion, fear and danger. Where people seek and value material gain more than eternal dividends. People now live in sin and feel no remorse about it. Betrayal everywhere. Friends kill their friends; brothers betray their brothers all in the appellation of becoming rich. This is a dark generation. But Jesus is talking to us today, and He says, “YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD”.
SCRIPTURE:
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden, (Matthew 5:14) ESV
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:
Light and darkness have nothing in common.
We need light of change. The world needs peace. We need genuine revival in the souls of men. We need truthfulness, sincerity and transparency in life dealings. We need the light of Christ to dispel this thick darkness that covers the earth. As Christians, we are to be such a light, a pace setter and spiritual pathfinder pointing people to the light of Christ.
We are called to shine as lights before others, out in the world. We are called to shine as lights in our homes, offices, business places and in our churches. We are to shine at all times and at all places, showing and directing people to Christ.
Beloved, in the midst of darkness, light provides a way for others to head in the right direction. You are the light and a spiritual pathfinder pointing others to Jesus Christ. You are the beacon of truth and peace, let your light so shine, so that men will see it and give glory to God, (Matt. 5:16). Stay Lifted!
NOTE THIS:
Light and darkness have nothing in common.
RESPONSIBILITY:
As the light of God, mind how you live your life, live by example for others to follow.
PRAYER:
O LORD, make me thy shinning light in midst of darkness, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)
PROPHETIC WORD:
May the light of God you bear, dispel every darkness in your life and family, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
