HOPELESS WITHOUT CHRIST (3)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: SATURDAY, 12 AUGUST 2023
Life without Christ is like trying to light a fire without a spark. No matter how much effort we exert, the darkness persists. But in Christ, we find the spark that ignites a blaze of hope within us, dispelling the shadows and infusing our lives with purpose and meaning. In the gospel of John 15:5; Jesus said,
Bottom of FormSCRIPTURE: “I am the Vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5 NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: So, dearly beloved, the above Scripture versereminds us of our underlying dependence on Christ. You see, just as a branch cannot bear fruit without being connected to the vine, we cannot experience true hope, purpose, and fulfillment without being intimately connected to our Savior. Therefore, in acknowledging our need for Christ, we recognize that without Him, we are like a ship adrift, lacking direction and at the mercy of the tempestuous waves. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: In our own strength, we are limited, vulnerable, and incapable of navigating the storms that life throws our way. Yet, through Christ, a wellspring of hope emerges, illuminating our path and lifting us from the depths of hopelessness.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, dearly beloved, during life’s storms, let’s come before Christ, acknowledging that He’s the anchor that holds us firm.
PRAYER: O LORD, thank You for being the anchor that holds me steady and the light that guides my way. Help me to continually seek You and to place my trust in You all the days of my life, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: As we seek and walk with the Lord daily, may our hopelessness be transformed into hopefulness each day, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
BIBLE TEXTS: John 15:5
