FINDING GUIDANCE AND SECURITY IN JESUS (1)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: MONDAY, 22 APRIL 2024
In the fast-paced and often uncertain journey of life, seeking guidance and security is a widespread quest. Many turn to various sources such as self-help books, mentors, or even spiritual practices. However, for Christians, the ultimate source of guidance and security is found in Jesus Christ. This devotional aims to explore the profound depths of finding guidance and security in Jesus, drawing from biblical wisdom and personal reflection. And the first is “Trusting in God’s promises” – Proverbs 3:5-6.
SCRIPTURE: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: This passage offers a profound invitation to trust in the Lord wholeheartedly and to relinquish reliance on our limited understanding. It encourages us to surrender our anxieties, doubts, and uncertainties to God, trusting in His wisdom and guidance instead of solely relying on our own intellect or reasoning. Trusting in Jesus’ promises involves acknowledging His sovereignty and goodness even when circumstances seem unclear or challenging. It requires a surrender of control and a recognition that God’s plans are often beyond our comprehension. In doing so, we open ourselves to the possibility of experiencing His faithfulness and provision in ways that surpass our expectations. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: In times of uncertainty, trusting in Jesus’ promises can bring a profound sense of security. His promises are not mere words but are rooted in His character and faithfulness.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, let us learn to anchor our trust in God. For in Him, we can find peace amidst life’s storms, knowing that He is steadfast and unchanging.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we thank you for Your Word today. As we meditate on it, teach us to always trust in the promises it holds and never to rely on our own understanding. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
PROPHETIC WORD: As we take time to surrender to God and commit to trusting in His promises with all our hearts, may we find guidance and security in Him. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
