EXPERIENCING INTIMACY WITH CHRIST (4)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: FRIDAY, 19 APRIL 2024
The recent past, we started looking at various ways we can experience intimacy with Christ, and we studied prayer. Thus, the next is “studying Scripture.” Certainly! Studying Scripture is yet another important and foundational way of deepening intimacy with Christ. It helps us to understand God’s character. The Bible is God’s revelation of Himself to humanity. Through studying Scripture, we gain insight into God’s nature, attributes, and character (Ps 145:8-9). It contains great teachings of Jesus, which serve as a guide for how we should live our lives and relate to God and others and provide practical wisdom and insight into God’s kingdom (Matt 22:37-40).
SCRIPTURE: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” — 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: The Bible reveals God’s plan of salvation through Jesus Christ. By studying Scripture, we come to understand the depth of God’s love and the significance of Jesus’ sacrifice for our sins (John 3:16). Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Regular study of Scripture helps us grow in our faith and spiritual maturity. As we delve deeper into God’s Word, we become rooted in truth and equipped to live out our faith (Col 3:16).
RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, let’s engage with the studying of Scriptures. By engaging with Scripture regularly and attentively, we open ourselves to the transformative power of God’s Word and deepen our intimacy with Christ.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we come before you with gratitude for the gift of your Word. As we open the pages of Scripture, we invite your Holy Spirit to illuminate its truths and speak to our heart. Grant us wisdom, insight, and understanding as we delve into the depths of your Word. May it be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path, guiding us in righteousness and truth. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
PROPHETIC WORD: We declare that as we immerse ourselves in the study of Scripture, we’re encountering the living Word of God. And His truth is taking root in our hearts, bringing forth fruit in its season. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
