DON’T SIT AROUND CONDEMNED

TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org

DATE: SUNDAY, 12 DECEMBER 2021

There’re times the memory of our past mistakes comes knocking at our thoughts, uninvitingly replaying our wrongs and unceasingly flashing them to our conscience, and thereby making us feel guilty and condemned. But the Scripture says, “forget what lies behind and reach forward to what lies ahead”, (Phil 3:13).

SCRIPTURE: …but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead. (Phil 3:13) NASB

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Beloved, God wants to do something new and wonderful in your life, but you have to stop looking to your past in order to receive it! The truth of the matter is God’s blessing for your life is in your future and not in your past. So, it’s not just enough to mentally acknowledge this truth, but however, you must also make an effort to leave what is in the past in the past, and press forward into the future.

Here’s how to do it: Take your thoughts of the past captive and make them obedient to Christ, (2 Cor 10:5). When a condemning thought from your past crosses your mind; stop it dead, rebuke it and it will fly. Stay Lifted!

NOTE THIS: Nothing punctures destiny like guilt and condemnation. So, don’t sit around condemned, but stand up to the future’s possibility.

RESPONSIBILITY: Take every thought of the past captive and make them obedient to Christ.

PRAYER: O LORD, give me the grace to continually rebuke every thought of my past, and cause me to focus on what lies ahead, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)

PROPHETIC WORD: May God supply to you the grace to forget what lies behind and reach forward to what lies ahead, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!

BIBLE TEXTS: Phil 3:13, 2 Cor 10:5
