DON’T PRAY AWAY EVERYTHING

TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org

DATE: TUESDAY, 31 MAY 2022

Beloved, are you trying to pray away what God is using to refine you? It’s not every uncomfortable thing that happens to us is an attack of the enemy, sometimes God uses uncomfortable situations to refine us and get the best from us. But when we don’t understand this, we may go on living in frustration and regrets over the things we shouldn’t. So, it becomes so necessary, we explore extensively in this regard towards proffering sustainable result to that effect.

SCRIPTURE: …God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. (1 Cor 10:13 ESV)

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: You see, so often, the things we pray away are the very thing God uses to make a way for us. For instance, when God wants to teach us how to be patience, He may employ every available means to make it happen. But we on our own would see it as a delay. So, think about those awful experiences that may seem like a delay in your eyes; and everything is turning against you. How do feel when you are in a very long queue trying to shop or do something else. You were such in a hurry that you feel the line is not moving so fast. You waited and waited. You looked next to you; the other line was moving. So, you decided to abandon the old line and joined another. But as soon as you joined the queue, the line stopped moving and the former queue began to move.

It is not just all about the queueing and what have you, it also implies in our lives. When you think God is blessing others and not blessing you, you think things are working for others and not working for you. But there is something you have failed to understand— in such challenging moment there is something God wants to communicate to you. He is using those things as a signal to get your attention. He wants to guide you and show you great things you do not know (Jer 33:3). Things that would change your life for good. He wants to reveal a business idea to you. So, don’t be so mad at God, He knows what He is doing, and He wants the best for you. Instead of praying and asking Him to change those things, why not pray for Him to change you. Stay Refreshed!

NOTE THIS: Most of the things we pray away are the things God is using to refine us and to get the best from us.

RESPONSIBILITY: So, instead of praying them away, asking God to change the situation, we ask God to change us.

PRAYER: O LORD, change me. Teach me to learn and discern what you’re saying per time in every moment of my life, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and pray for other intentions as the Spirit leads)

PROPHETIC WORD: May God help you, and give you discernment spirit, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
