So, beloved, beware of delay and procrastination. They are dangerous adversaries when it comes to matters of the heart and soul. Delaying our decision to follow Jesus can lead to a hardening of the heart. As we postpone our response, we may become deadened to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, making it harder to heed God’s call when it becomes more seeming and ostensible.
SCRIPTURE: For who were the ones who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? … (Hebrew 3:16 BSB)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Another example from the Scripture that represent delay is the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25:1-13. It underscores the importance of being prepared to meet the Bridegroom. Five wise virgins were ready when the time came, while five foolish ones were caught unprepared, missing their chance to enter the wedding feast. So, dearly beloved, let us embrace the opportunity to come to Jesus while there’s time, for in doing so, we discover the true meaning of life and the hope of eternity with Him. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Delaying our decision to follow Jesus can lead to a hardening of the heart.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, let’s beware of the deterrent and do the needful.
PRAYER: O Lord, help me to respond to You while there’s time. And empower me with Your Holy Spirit to walk faithfully with You each day, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: As you respond to the invitation of Christ, may the Lord empower you with the Holy Spirit to walk faithfully each day, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
