COME AS YOU ARE (4)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: SUNDAY, 1 OCTOBER 2023
So, beloved, as we continue to explore the profound significance of “Come as you are” and how it can transform our spiritual journey, we look at the next key point. When we come to Jesus just as we are, He welcomes us with open arms, offering forgiveness and healing. Shame loses its grip on us, and we find freedom in God’s love. The shame of our past sins and iniquity can be a relentless adversary. It can imprison our hearts and minds, but it holds no power in the presence of God. For Jesus is the key that unlocks those prison doors and liberates us from its bondage. The Bible says in Romans 8:1,
Bottom of FormSCRIPTURE: “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” – Romans 8:1
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Coming to Jesus with our sins and confessing them is the first step toward healing. This is true, for confession leads to healing. In God’s mercy, through the way of the Cross, Jesus bore our shame so that we could walk in freedom. So, when we embrace His sacrifice, we release the burden of shame into His loving hands. He forgives and cleanses us, allowing us to move forward without the weight of shame. Alleluia! Stay Refreshed and happy new Month!
NOTE THIS: When we come to Jesus with our brokenness and mistakes, His love and forgiveness overpower the grip of shame. His grace is greater than any guilt we carry.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, to let go of shame, we must embrace the forgiveness Jesus offers. His forgiveness is complete and absolute, wiping the slate clean.
PRAYER: O LORD JESUS, we come before You with the chains of sin gripping and binding us, please forgive us our sins, heal us, and set us free, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: As we’ve come to Jesus, may He forgive us, heal us, and set us free, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
BIBLE TEXTS: Romans 8:1, Matthew 11:28-30
