COME AS YOU ARE (2)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: FRIDAY, 29 SEPTEMBER 2023
So, beloved, coming to Jesus just as we are requires vulnerability and humility. It means acknowledging our need for Him, recognizing that we cannot navigate life’s journey on our own. It means surrendering our burdens and allowing Him to work in and through us.
Bottom of FormSCRIPTURE: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” — Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: When Jesus says, “Take my yoke upon you,” He is not adding more burdens to our already heavy load. Instead, He is offering to share our burdens and guide us through life’s challenges. His yoke is easy, and His burden is light because He carries the weight of our troubles with us. He doesn’t ask us to walk alone but promises to walk beside us every step of the way. So, as we reflect on these verses again today, let us remember that we don’t need to have it all together to come to Jesus. He wants us as we are, with our weaknesses and strengths, our doubts and faith. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: When we come to Jesus as we are, He takes away our burdens and gives us peace.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, in our prayers today, let’s take a moment to lay our burdens at His feet. Allow His peace to wash over us, and trust that He will guide us through the challenges we face in life.
PRAYER: O LORD, here we are, we have come to You. Take us as we are. Take away our burdens and give rest to our weary souls, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: As we’ve come to Jesus, may we find sincere peace and rest for our troubled souls, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
