TOPIC: BECOMING A BETTER YOU
Beloved, I want to share with you today about “becoming a better you”. It has always been our deepest desire to grow and become a better person in life. We would keep track of our behaviors, check through our attitudes and always resolve to do better. But at the end, despite all the efforts we might have put in, we would still struggle with it over and over again. But then, the sincere truth of the matter is, no matter how resolute and careful we may want to be about this matter, we would never, on our own efforts alone, become a better a person. We need a power outside of ourselves. A gripping power of Christ. That’s why Jesus reiterated this fact in John 15:5, He said,
SCRIPTURE: I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for [otherwise] apart from Me [that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing. (John 15:5 AMP)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: So, beloved, have you been wondering why you behave the way you do, even after a series of painstaking efforts to do better? Why did you fall so cheaply and easily to the same sin over and over again. Why that useless ancestry pattern keeps holding the grip of you and happens around your life? I know, you’re so sick and tired of them all. At some point, you were so worried that you strongly asked, “what’s wrong with me?” But I tell you, nothing is strangely wrong with you. You need help. You need a power outside yourself. You need Christ. You cannot get over that evil chain that is binding on you alone, you need the help and power of the Holy Spirit. So, step out and boldly reach out for Christ in your life. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: No matter how resolute a person may want to be about becoming a better person, he will never on his own alone become a better person. He needs a power outside himself. And Jesus Christ is the power!
RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, seek to know Christ, seek more of Him and His supreme power in your life.
PRAYER: Oh Lord Jesus, I need You in my life. Help my life and cause me to know You more, in Jesus’s name, Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: As you seek to know Christ and more of Him in your life, may you find Him always, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
