The season of advent represents the emergence of light– the light that dispels darkness. In a world often shrouded in the shadows of sin, marred by confusion and moral obscurity; the advent of Christ stands as a radiant beacon of hope and the illumination of truth. Just as light dispels the darkness, Christ’s coming brings clarity and truth. And the Bible affirms this truth in 1 John 1:5; it says,
SCRIPTURE: “God is light; in him, there is no darkness at all.” — 1 John 1:5 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Yet again, just as sin casts a dark shadow over humanity, leading to brokenness and separation from God. The advent of Christ represents the divine intervention that conquers and overcomes the darkness of sin. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: The arrival of Jesus brings a profound joy that surpasses all understanding. It is the joy of knowing that, in Christ, the darkness has been overcome, and the promise of eternal light awaits all who believe.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, as recipients of Christ’s light, we are called to be reflectors of that light in this darkened world.
PRAYER: O GOD, as we journey through this season of advent, may our lives reflect the light of Christ, and may the light shines brightly in our lives, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: As the light of Christ shines in our lives, may it guide us through the shadows and illuminate our paths, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
