A NEW WAY OF LIVING

Most people live complicated lives that leave them frustrated and confused, weary and worn out. But beloved, I have good news for you; your life does not have to be this way. Jesus offers us a new way of living, and I believe it is a simple, yet powerful way that enables us to enjoy our life both here on earth and eternity. So, in this series, we shall be looking at practical steps we can employ to access this new way of living in Christ. The first step is to put God first in our life and spending time with Him. Just as the Bible says in Matt 6:33,
SCRIPTURE: But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also. (Matt 6:33 AMP)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: In Luke 10:38-42, we read about two sisters, Mary and Martha, who spent time with Jesus in their home. Martha kept busy serving the guests and keeping the house clean, while Mary sat at the feet of Jesus, listening to His every word. Martha got upset that her sister wasn’t helping with the housework, but Jesus commended Mary’s decision and told Martha she was so busy that she was missing the point of His visit—spending time with Him. But then, it’s so amazing we make time for what’s important to us and not what really matters to us. And by so doing we struggle and sabotage our time with God. But today we’re encouraged to learn to prioritize our lives and engage in the first things first. The new way of living. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Whatever a person prioritizes first in his life affects his life and way of living.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, learn to prioritize God in your life by putting Him into your schedule and working everything else around Him.
PRAYER: O LORD, give me the grace to continue putting You first in my life always, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: As you continue to put God first in your life, may God be to you what you can never be to yourself, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
