YOU’RE PRUNED FOR THE BEST (2)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: SATURDAY, 3 JUNE 2023
So, beloved, don’t fight it when God is pruning you. It may not make sense to you now, but sooner or later you would have every course to thank God for your life. Maybe you were laid off your job after many years of labor without duly compensated. And it broke your heart. Don’t worry about it. Just thank God and move on with your life. God has a much better job ahead for you. It could be a relationship you had built and nurtured with everything you have, and suddenly your friend walked out. Yes, it hurts, but just maybe, God is pruning you. That deceitful and false-hearted friend needs to go for the better one to come.
SCRIPTURE: Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that continues to bear fruit, He [repeatedly] prunes, so that it will bear more fruit [even richer and finer fruit]. (John 15:2 AMP)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: On the other hand, like the tree that is abnormally shaped, has chumps growing out of the base of the trunk, and dead branches here and there; we are in dire need of God’s pruning. There are character deficiencies which God wants us to become aware of; there are serious negative attitudes and sinful habits that we need to be repented of. So, we need to be pruned for the best. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Pruning is not so fascinating. We may not like the process, but when it’s over, we’re much better off than we were before.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, ask God to prune anything that doesn’t glorify Him in your life.
PRAYER: O LORD, help my life. Prune anything that does not glorify You in my life, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: As the Lord prunes you, may you be fruitful and even richer, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
BIBLE TEXTS: John 15:2
