YOU WERE MADE FOR MORE (2)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: SATURDAY, 17 DECEMBER 2022
So, beloved, when the issues of life make you sour and try to limit you, be reminded that you’re unstoppable and you were made for more. Maybe the story of the young David will encourage and motivate you. In 1 Samuel 17, Saul was the leader of Israel. 40 days a giant named Goliath came out in the morning and the evening to challenge the Israelites. His size and strength coupled with his intimidating threats paralyzed the Israeli army. That is until the young David showed up to bring lunch to his brothers. When he heard the insults from Goliath, he said to Saul in 1 Samuel 17:32,
SCRIPTURE: “Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him.” (1 Sam 17:32 NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: And immediately something rose up on the inside of David, and he exclaimed, “Who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God”? He went out to face Goliath, and with just a stone and a slingshot, he brought him dead on the ground (1 Sam 17:49). You see, David understood he was made for more. He didn’t allow the threat of the enemy to sink and limit the greatness in him. And so, he could achieve what Saul and his armies couldn’t achieve. So, beloved, when you understand who you are, and that you were made for more and begin to declare it over and manifest it in your life, you’re going to step into a new boldness, confidence, and increase that you could never imagine. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Don’t let the empty threats of enemy ground the greatness that God puts in you. Always know this for sure, that you were made for more.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, I encourage you to think over it, and ask God for the grace to discover the greatness in you.
PRAYER: O LORD, give me the grace to discover the greatness You put in me, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: May the Lord cause you to discover your greatness, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
BIBLE TEXTS: 1 Samuel 17:1-49, Psalms 139:13-14
