WHAT’S WRONG WITH THE WORLD?
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: THURSDAY, 7 JULY 2022
Jesus in Luke 11:29, realized the people that gathered around Him were seeking for miracles. They came to Him not because of who He is, but for what they will get from Him. They needed to see the signs and wonders. And Jesus called them ‘this evil generation!’ So, I wondered, if Jesus would call them an evil generation, what would Jesus call our present generation? A generation of corruption, terrorism, and nepotism. A generation where evil is celebrated, the son kills his mother, and brother kills his brother for money rituals. Young men could engage in all manner of atrocity and barbarity to get rich quick, and the young women go naked on the social media to get “likes” and “followers”. Now nakedness, nudity, homosexuality, and all forms of immorality are the order of the day. What’s wrong with the world?
SCRIPTURE: The night is nearly over; the day has drawn near. So let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. (Romans 13:12 BSB)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: This illicit act has degenerated to the level that if a person does not engage in them, he is rebuffed and treated as an outcast. Indeed, the world has gone wrong. But, beloved, we need to stand firm to our faith in Christ Jesus, with the belt of truth buckled around our waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, (Eph 6:14). We should therefore take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, we will be able to stand our ground, and having done everything, to stand (Eph 6:13). Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Jesus did not pray for the Father to take us away from the world, but He asked we are kept safe away from the evil one (Jn 17:15).
RESPONSIBILITY: So, be ready for whatever comes, dressed for action, and keep your lamps burning (Lk 12:35).
PRAYER: O LORD, help me to lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and pray for other intentions as the Spirit leads)
PROPHETIC WORD: May God cause you to abide in faith and love of God, even as you put on the helmet of your hope of salvation, in your times of need, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
