UNTIL THE GLORY RETURNS (3)

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Friday, 2 May 2025

Focus: The Cry for His Presence

Message:

There is no tragedy greater than the absence of God’s glory—and no restoration more glorious than its return. In 1 Samuel 4, the ark was captured, the priests fell, and a child was named Ichabod—a prophetic cry that “the glory has departed.” It was a moment of deep national and spiritual loss. But Ichabod is not where the story ends. God is still searching for altars to rest upon… for lives that burn in holiness… for voices that cry out, “Bring the glory back!” This devotional series is a cry for restoration. A call to rebuild what has been broken. It’s not about performance. It’s not about noise. It’s about His presence—tangible, holy, consuming.

📖 Key Verse:

1 Samuel 4:21 – “She named the boy Ichabod, saying, ‘The glory has departed from Israel.’”

Devotional:

Before the glory returns, there must be a cry—a desperate hunger for more than religion, performance, or reputation. Moses once said, “If Your presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here” (Exodus 33:15). That is the posture of those who carry revival. The cry for His presence is not casual—it’s desperate. It says: “I can’t live without You.” “I don’t want success without Your Spirit.” “I will wait until You come.”

📖 Scripture Reading:

Psalm 27:4 – “One thing I ask from the Lord… that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life…”

💧 Refreshing for the Day:

The presence of God is not cheap. It comes to the broken, the surrendered, the hungry. So, beloved, when the cry for His presence rises again from hearts, homes, and churches, the weight of His glory returns. More than power, strategy, or gifting—you need His presence. Let your cry today be, “I won’t move unless You’re with me, Lord.” Stay Refreshed!

Note This:

Revival is born not from performance—but from God’s presence.

🛡️ Responsibility:

  • Set time apart today to pray without an agenda—just to seek Him.
  • Write down what He reveals when you wait in His presence.

🙏 Prayer:

Lord, I cry for Your presence. I don’t want a life without You. I want to be a carrier of Your glory. Fill every empty space with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:

I am marked by hunger! My cry rises to Heaven! I will host the presence of God—and the glory will return! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
