UNTIL THE GLORY RETURNS (2)

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Thursday, 1 May 2025

Topic: Until the Glory Returns (2)

Focus: Rebuilding the Sacred

Message:

There is no tragedy greater than the absence of God’s glory—and no restoration more glorious than its return. In 1 Samuel 4, the ark was captured, the priests fell, and a child was named Ichabod—a prophetic cry that “the glory has departed.” It was a moment of deep national and spiritual loss. But Ichabod is not where the story ends. God is still searching for altars to rest upon… for lives that burn in holiness… for voices that cry out, “Bring the glory back!” This devotional series is a cry for restoration. A call to rebuild what has been broken. It’s not about performance. It’s not about noise. It’s about His presence—tangible, holy, consuming.

📖 Key Verse:

1 Samuel 4:21 – “She named the boy Ichabod, saying, ‘The glory has departed from Israel.’”

Devotional:

Once the glory departs, the next step is not despair—it is rebuilding. In 1 Kings 18:30, before Elijah called down fire from heaven, he did something significant: “He repaired the altar of the Lord, which had been torn down.” Altars symbolize devotion, surrender, and communion. When the altar is broken, worship becomes hollow. When the sacred is neglected, the glory lifts.

📖 Scripture Reading:

Isaiah 58:12 – “You will be called Repairer of Broken Walls…”

💧 Refreshing for the Day:

Beloved, to rebuild the sacred means to return to: consistent personal prayer, pure-hearted worship, reverent awe of God’s holiness, and obedience without excuse. Rebuilding is costly. It takes time, humility, and fire-tested faith. But God always responds to rebuilt altars with fresh glory. So, if we want the glory back, we must restore what we allowed to fall. Don’t wait for a crowd to start rebuilding. You are the altar. Begin today by restoring the sacred in your own life. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:

The glory returns to rebuilt places.

🛡️ Responsibility:

  1. Take inventory of any area of your walk that’s grown cold or casual.
  2. Rebuild with intention and reverence.

🙏 Prayer:

Lord, teach me how to rebuild what I’ve allowed to crumble. Let my heart become an altar where Your fire can fall again. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:

I am a restorer of the sacred. My altar is being rebuilt. And the glory is coming back! Alleluia!

📖 Bible Texts:

1 Samuel 4:21-22, Isaiah 58:12
