UNDERSTANDING THE PATIENCE OF FAITH (3)
TIMES OF REFRESHING DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: TUESDAY, 13 AUGUST 2024
So, beloved, having understood what patience of faith is, now let us explore practical applications to cultivating patience of faith. Number one is “Focus on God’s character”. Trusting God’s character is key to developing patience. God is faithful, loving, and sovereign. So, everyday remind yourself of His past faithfulness, and let that fuel your patience in the present. Number two, “Pray for Patience”. Ask God to help you grow in patience. It is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22), and the Holy Spirit can work within us to develop this quality as we submit to His leading.
SCRIPTURE: “because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” — James 1:3-4 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: And number three, “Stay Engaged in Faith”. Patience doesn’t mean doing nothing. Continue to pray, seek God, and obey His Word while you wait. Stay active in your faith, trusting that God is working behind the scenes. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Understanding the patience of faith is about recognizing that God’s timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t align with ours.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, again, let us remember that faith and patience go hand in hand, and through them, we will inherit the fullness of what God has promised.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we thank You for the truth found in Your Word. We recognize that the testing of our faith is meant to produce perseverance within us. Though the trials we face are difficult, we trust that they are shaping us into the people You have called us to be. Help us to embrace the process with patience and trust, knowing that through perseverance, we are being made mature and complete in You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
PROPHETIC WORD: May God fill us with hope and joy, even in the midst of trials, knowing that He is working all things together for our good. May He teach us to lean on Him and to find our rest in His unfailing love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
