THE WATCHMEN’S CRY: STANDING ON THE WALLS FOR GENERATIONS (2)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Thursday, 20 March 2025
Focus: The Burden of the Watchman
Message: Revival needs watchmen—those who stand in the gap, refusing to be silent until God moves.
📖 Key Verse: Isaiah 62:6 – “I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night.”
Every true watchman carries a burden—a holy weight from God that keeps them on their knees until something breaks in the spirit. Without a burden, there’s no urgency, no cry, and no persistence in prayer. The burden of a watchman is not self-imposed; it is placed by God. When Nehemiah heard of Jerusalem’s broken walls, he wept, fasted, and prayed because the burden of his people’s condition gripped his heart (Nehemiah 1:4).
Watchmen don’t pray for convenience or routine—they pray because the pain of the land becomes their pain. They cry until God responds. Their burden keeps them awake, watching, pleading, and standing in the gap.
Scripture Reading:
📖 Habakkuk 2:1 – “I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me.”
Refreshing for the Day:
So, beloved, what is breaking your heart in this season? What has God placed on your spirit that you can’t shake off? That is your burden—and your assignment as a watchman. Ask God today, “Lord, give me a burden for what burdens You.” The greatest danger is becoming numb to the spiritual condition of your family, your church, your nation. The burden is what fuels the prayer fire of a watchman. Don’t just watch passively—feel the weight of what needs to change and pray until it happens. Stay Refreshed!
Note This:
The burden of a watchman is heaven’s assignment placed on an earthly vessel until the will of God is done.
Responsibility:
- Spend time reflecting: What has God been burdening me with lately?
- Write down specific areas or people you feel called to intercede for.
- Pray: “Lord, give me the strength to carry the burden until revival comes.”
Prayer:
Father, I don’t want to pray casually. Place Your burden in my heart. Break my heart for what breaks Yours. Let me feel the weight of souls, of revival, and of this generation’s cry. Teach me to carry it well, until You move. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
Prophetic Declaration:
I carry the burden of heaven! I will not be silent. I will not stop. I will pray until revival breaks out in my family, my church, and my generation! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
Bible Texts:
Isaiah 62:6, Ezekiel 33:7, Habakkuk 2:1
