THE THRESHOLD: DON’T STOP AT THE DOOR, STEP IN (2)

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Thursday, 24 April 2025

Focus: Ankle-Deep Isn’t Enough

Message:

Many linger at the threshold of revival but never step all the way in. This is a push into the Holy of Holies, into divine possession.

Key Verse:

📖 Key Verse: Ezekiel 47:5 – “The water had risen and was deep enough to swim in—a river that no one could cross.”

Devotional:

Ankle-deep water feels safe. You can still control your steps. You can feel the river without surrendering to it. Many believers live here—exposed to God’s presence but not transformed by it. Ankle-deep Christianity knows the songs but not the surrender. It enjoys the move but resists the current. It’s comfortable, predictable, and shallow. But God is calling His people deeper. There’s more. More intimacy. More revelation. More power. But you can’t experience the deep until you leave the shallow.

📖 Scripture Reading:

Luke 5:4 – “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”

💧 Refreshing for the Day:

The ankle-deep life says: “I’ll serve, but only if it’s easy. I’ll pray, but only when I need something. I’ll go, but only if it’s convenient.” So, beloved, God is saying: “Step further.” You were not made to dabble in glory—you were made to drown in it. Ankle-deep won’t hold you in hard seasons. The shallow dries up quickly. Ask the Holy Spirit: “Where am I holding back?” Stay Refreshed!

Note This:

You can’t walk in deep power while living in shallow surrender.

🛡️ Responsibility:

  1. Identify a habit, fear, or mindset that keeps you comfortable in the shallows.
  2. Push past it in prayer and bold action today.

🙏 Prayer:

Lord, I want more. Take me deeper than I’ve ever been. Forgive me for settling in ankle-deep places. Break my comfort and push me into surrender. Let Your current carry me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:

I refuse the shallow life! I step beyond comfort and into the depths. The river of God is rising—and I’m going all the way in! In Jesus’ name, Amen!

📖 Bible Texts:

Ezekiel 47:1-6, Luke 5:4
