THE SECRETS TO ACCESSING THE HEART OF GOD (6)

TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org

DATE: TUESDAY, 21 JUNE 2022

So, as we continue to learn the secret that earned David a man after God’s own heart. We should note that studying about the life of David would not only show us why he was called a man after God’s own heart, but it will also help us to see the characteristics that we should look for in ourselves, as followers of Christ who are also seeking to access the heart of God.

SCRIPTURE: Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6 BSB)

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: David demonstrated a sincere faith and undiluted trust in God. When the Philistine giant Goliath was terrorizing the army Israel, it took courage for David to face a sword-wielding giant with nothing but a sling and some stones. He understood that all powers belong to God, and trusted the battle belongs to God (1 Sam 17:47). It was through his faith that God empowered him to be successful. He killed the giant, and this giant-killing faith remained with David his entire life.

Again, David was a worshipper. Even in times of difficulty, at a time when others may have run from or hidden from God, David chose to praise the Lord. He fought many battles and won all. He realized victory does not come from man, nor come from his strengths, but from God. Stay Refreshed!

NOTE THIS: While faith and trust open the heart of God, praises brings down His glory.

RESPONSIBILITY: So, learn to trust in God, and at all times sing praises to Him.

PRAYER: O LORD, give me the grace to always trust in You, and cause me to praise You all the days of my life, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and pray for other intentions as the Spirit leads)

PROPHETIC WORD: As you trust in and worship the Lord, may He grant you access to His heart and let His presence shine upon you, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
