THE LORD WILL SUSTAIN YOU (2)
TIMES OF REFRESHING DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: SUNDAY, 1 SEPTEMBER 2024
So, beloved, when we are tired, God is our rest. When we feel like giving up, He infuses us with His strength to keep going. Consider the story of Elijah in 1 Kings 19. After a great victory over the prophets of Baal, Elijah found himself fleeing for his life, exhausted and despairing. He cried out to God, asking to die. But instead of condemning Elijah’s weakness, God sent an angel to provide food and water, and Elijah was sustained. This divine sustenance wasn’t just physical; it was spiritual and emotional. God met Elijah where he was and gave him what he needed to continue his journey.
SCRIPTURE: “Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.” — Psalm 55:22 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: We, too, have access to this divine sustenance. God is intimately aware of our needs, our fears, and our struggles. He knows when we’re at the end of our rope, and He promises to be our source of strength. The key to tapping into this promise lies in the first part of the verse: “Cast your cares on the Lord.” This is an act of trust, a decision to hand over our anxieties, fears, and burdens to the One who is fully capable of handling them. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: When you cast your burdens on the Lord, He ensures that you remain unshaken. His grip on you is firm, and His love is enduring.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, keep trusting God always, even as you remain in His firm grip.
PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise to sustain me. I cast my cares upon You today, trusting that You will uphold me with Your mighty hand. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
PROPHETIC WORD: May God’s sustaining power gives you the strength to face today’s challenges and the hope to embrace tomorrow with confidence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
