THE LORD WILL SUSTAIN YOU (1)
TIMES OF REFRESHING DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: SATURDAY, 31 AUGUST 2024
In the quiet moments of our lives, when the weight of the world seems too heavy to bear, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. We often find ourselves wondering how we will make it through the challenges that life throws at us. Yet, in these moments, God gently reminds us of His promise: “I will sustain you.”
SCRIPTURE: “Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.” — Psalm 55:22 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: The word “sustain” means to support, uphold, or bear the weight of something. This is precisely what our Heavenly Father does for us. He doesn’t just watch us struggle from afar; He steps into our circumstances, takes hold of our burdens, and carries them for us. When we are weak, He is strong. When we are tired, He is our rest. When we feel like giving up, He infuses us with His strength to keep going. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: God’ssustenance is unfailing. No matter the season of life, His promises to sustain us remain constant. His strength is made perfect in our weakness.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, as we humble ourselves, confess our sins, and seek God’s forgiveness, He will meet us with His grace, wash us clean and renew our spirits.
PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise to sustain me. I cast my cares upon You today, trusting that You will uphold me with Your mighty hand. When I am weak, be my strength. When I am weary, be my rest. Help me to trust in Your unfailing love and to lean on You in every season of life. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
PROPHETIC WORD: The God who created you will never abandon you. He will carry you through every trial, rescue you from every danger, and sustain you with His everlasting strength. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
