Beloved, as we turn the page and enter a new year, let me ask you this: Are you satisfied? You may think I’m asking about those delicious feasts that many enjoyed during the Christmas season, but I’m actually talking about a different kind of hunger. You see, while food that nourishes our bodies is good, it is nowhere near as eternally important as that which nourishes the soul. We need someone who will feed the spiritual hunger that is within us. And that someone is Jesus! Any wonder, the Psalmist declared,
SCRIPTURE: Thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! For He satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul He fills with good things. (Psalm 107:8-9 ESV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: So, it’s the Lord who satisfies our longing soul. He is the one who refreshes our soul and inhabits in our deepest self, satisfying those longings and desires that seem to be so consuming and exhausting. Therefore, rather than being so consumed with some mere resolutions, I’d encourage you to seek the Lord and the goodness that He brings. Sincerely hunger for Him, and He alone will satisfy your longing soul. And you’ll have something to celebrate this year. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: It’s the Lord who satisfies our longing soul. He is the one who refreshes our soul and inhabits in our deepest self, satisfying those longings and desires that seem to be so consuming and exhausting.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, seek the Lord and the goodness that He brings, and He will satisfy your longing soul.
PRAYER: O LORD, I come to You today, please satisfy my longing soul, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: As you seek the Lord and the goodness that He brings, may He satisfy your longing soul and give you peace, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
