THE KEYS TO FRUITFUL LIVING (3)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: SATURDAY, 16 JULY 2022
So, it has been established that, until a man abides in Christ and allow the Word of God abides in him, he will never be truly fruitful in life (John 15:4). And having previously looked at what it means for a person to abide in Christ, now, let us look at, how can we allow the Word of God abide in us? Foundationally, Jesus is the Word (John 1:1). And for the Word to abide in us, we must first abide in Jesus Christ. Then we allow Jesus (the Word) to take flesh in us. This happens when we are obedient to the Word.
SCRIPTURE: Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, (Exodus 19:5 NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Beloved, obedience to God’s Word is the true sign of your love for God, and the only way you can know if truly the Word of God is abiding in you is by your total submission and absolute obedience to God. We can’t bear any godly fruit apart from Christ, but if we abide in obedience, our fruit will begin to flourish. The fruits of the Spirit can only be produced in the soil of obedience, obedience to God and His Word.
And so, dear friend in Christ, I encourage you today, make conscious efforts to abide in Christ, remain in Him even as you allow His Word to abide in you. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: The fruits of the Spirit can only be produced in the soil of obedience, obedience to God and His Word.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, as you abide in Christ, purposely allow the Word of God also abide in you.
PRAYER: O LORD, give me the grace to abide in You, and cause Your Word to abide in me, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and pray for other intentions as the Spirit leads)
PROPHETIC WORD: Receive the grace to always allow the Word of God abide in you, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
BIBLE TEXTS: Exodus 19:5, John 15:4,7
