THE KEYS TO CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE (3)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: FRIDAY, 14 OCTOBER 2022
Again, for a change to happen in our lives, we must learn to be responsible and hopeful. Sometimes, we’re too apologetic and diffident to challenges, but trust me, all these are not needed in this matter. The signature tune that activates a change in a person’s life must first make him responsible and hopeful in God. Any wonder apostle Paul encourages us in the Bible, and he says,
SCRIPTURE: Let us hold resolutely to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:23 BSB)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: So, beloved, for a change to happen in your life, it is important that you stop being a prisoner of your circumstances. You have to choose to become a container of hope. It’s similar to the case of the man in Bethesda pool in John 5. Who had been crippled for 38 years. He was lying close to the pool for many years, but unable to get healed. So, when Jesus came down to the pool and saw him, He asked him if he wanted to be healed. And the man answered Him, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred.” While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me” (vs. 7).
Respectfully speaking, the man’s answer shows, he had avoided responsibility, and blamed people for his predicament. Maybe he was expecting Jesus to feel sorry for him. But Jesus didn’t feel sorry for him. Instead, Jesus said, rather sternly, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” (vs. 8). So, in our quest for a change, we must never give up, we must be responsible, and strongly refuse to patronize our circumstances, and place our hope in God. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Sincere change comes when we pledge responsibility to work and place our hope in God and refuse to give up—and when we do all that, then God will come through for us.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, ask God to help you and cause you to be responsible and hopeful enough in life.
PRAYER: O LORD, help my life. Cause me to be responsible and hopeful in my life, in Jesus’ name, Amen! (Go ahead and pray for other intentions as the Spirit leads)
PROPHETIC WORD: May God cause you to change for the best, take away your sorrows and give you joy, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
BIBLE TEXTS: Hebrews 10:23, John 51-10
