THE JOY OF CHRISTMAS
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: MONDAY, 25 DECEMBER 2023
In the midst of twinkling lights, festive melodies, and the warm embrace of loved ones, there exists a profound and enduring joy that transcends the seasonal merriment. This joy is rooted in the very essence of Christmas—the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
SCRIPTURE: “But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David, a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord.'” — Luke 2:10-11 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: The joy of Christmas is not a fleeting emotion tied to the external celebrations of the season. It is a deep, abiding gladness that stems from the realization that God, in His infinite love, sent His Son into the world to be our Savior. This joy was not reserved for the elite or the privileged but was declared for “all the people.” The joy of Christmas is inclusive, embracing everyone, regardless of status, circumstance, or past mistakes. So, beloved, as we celebrate the birth of Christ, let us reflect on the nature of this joy. It is a joy that transcends circumstances, a joy that persists in the face of challenges, and a joy that finds its source in the unchanging love of God. Stay Refreshed and Merriest Christmas to you and your family!
NOTE THIS: The joy of Christmas is inclusive, embracing everyone, regardless of status, circumstance, or past mistakes.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, let us celebrate with joy and peace, sharing love with others.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we thank You for the indescribable joy that Christmas brings—the joy of knowing that You sent Your Son, Jesus, to be our Savior. Help us to experience this joy not just on the Christmas day but every day of our lives, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: And may this joy bring everlasting peace in our homes, and as we share this joy with others, may they too know the good news that brings great joy, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
