So, knowing Christ reshapes our value system. What we once esteemed highly—be it career success, social standing, or material wealth—pales in comparison to the treasure of an intimate relationship with Jesus. This does not mean these things are inherently wrong, but their ultimate worth is insignificant when held up to the light of Christ’s glory and grace.
SCRIPTURE: “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you.” — 1 Peter 1:3-4 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Embracing the incomparable worth of knowing Christ often comes with a cost. For Paul, it meant losing his previous status and enduring suffering. For us, it might mean re-evaluating our priorities, letting go of certain comforts or ambitions, and facing opposition. However, the joy and fulfillment found in Christ far exceed any sacrifices we make. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Earthly gains are transient, but knowing Christ has eternal significance. Our relationship with Him not only enriches our present life but secures our future hope.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, focus on nurturing your relationship with Christ, as it enriches your present life and secures your future hope.
PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for the eternal significance of knowing Christ. Help us to recognize that earthly gains are fleeting, while our relationship with Jesus offers everlasting value. May we find our true enrichment and security in Him, both now and for the future. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
