THE CRY FOR REVIVAL: BIRTHING A MOVE OF GOD (4)

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Saturday, 15 March 2025

Focus: The Fire of Repentance – Preparing the Way for Revival

Message:

Revival doesn’t come by accident—it comes through hunger, sacrifice, and prayer. Every move of God in history was birthed by men and women who refused to settle for a lukewarm existence. This devotional series will ignite a hunger for revival in your life and stir you to cry out for God to move in your generation.

Key Verse:

📖 Habakkuk 3:2 – “Lord, I have heard of your fame… Renew them in our day!”

Revival does not begin with miracles—it begins with repentance. Before God moves powerfully in a nation, He first cleanses hearts. Every revival in history was marked by deep conviction, brokenness, and a return to holiness. John the Baptist preached repentance to prepare the way for Jesus (Matthew 3:2). The people at Pentecost were cut to the heart and repented before revival spread (Acts 2:37-41). The Welsh Revival was fueled by people weeping over sin and turning back to God.

Scripture Reading:

📖 2 Chronicles 7:14 – “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Refreshing for the Day:

Many believers desire revival but resist repentance. They want God’s power, but they don’t want to surrender completely. Revival is impossible without purity. So, beloved, when was the last time you wept before God, asking Him to cleanse your heart? Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any hidden sin or areas where you need repentance. Revival begins with a clean heart. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:

The fire of revival will never come to an unrepentant heart.

Responsibility:

  1. Spend time in deep repentance today—don’t rush it. Ask God to purify your heart.
  2. Ask the Holy Spirit to convict you of any area where you have been compromising.
  3. If needed, forgive anyone who has wronged you and let go of bitterness.

Prayer:

Lord, I don’t want anything in my life to block Your move. Search my heart, cleanse me, and remove anything that grieves You. I want to be fully surrendered and pure before You. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Prophetic Declaration:

I declare that my heart is purified! Sin will not hinder my revival! I walk in holiness, and I am ready for God’s outpouring! In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Bible Texts:

Habakkuk 3:2, Psalm 42:1, 2 Chr 7:14
