STEPPING INTO GOD’S PROMISES (2)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Monday, 27 January 2025
Focus: Leaving the Past Behind
Message: The start of a new year is an opportunity to leave behind the past and step boldly into the promises of God. Just as the Israelites crossed the Jordan into the Promised Land, we too are called to trust God’s faithfulness and walk into the new things He has prepared for us.
The Israelites could not enter the Promised Land until they left the wilderness behind. Likewise, stepping into God’s promises requires us to let go of the past—whether it’s past mistakes, disappointments, or even comforts that keep us stagnant. Paul reminds us in Philippians 3:13 to forget what is behind and press toward what is ahead.
Letting go doesn’t mean ignoring the lessons of the past but choosing not to let them define or limit you. God is calling you into something new this year, and holding onto the past can prevent you from stepping into it. Release old fears, failures, and regrets into His hands, and allow Him to prepare your heart for the new blessings and opportunities ahead.
Scripture Reading:
Isaiah 43:18-19 – “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”
Refreshing for the Day:
So, beloved, identify the things from the past year that you need to release to God. Surrender them in prayer, asking Him to help you move forward in faith and hope. Stay Refreshed!
Note This:
You cannot move forward while holding onto the past. Letting go opens the door to God’s new plans.
Responsibility:
What is one thing from the past that you need to release to step into God’s promises for the new year?
Prayer:
O Lord, I release my past into Your hands—my mistakes, disappointments, and fears. Help me to embrace the new things You have prepared for me this year. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
Prophetic Declaration:
I declare that I am leaving the past behind and stepping forward into the new things God has prepared for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
Bible Texts:
Isaiah 43:18-19, Joshua 21:45
