SPEAKING VICTORY IN THE MIDST OF DEFEAT
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
DATE: MONDAY 15 MARCH 2021
The feelings we all have when everything is going on well in our life can’t be compared to when an unexpected challenge or storm arises. The former is always excited while the latter could be unexplainable. But the Scripture says in 1 Thess. 5:18, “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. This is the key to a victorious life.
You may be facing a situation where you don’t see how it could work out; it may be in your health, your finances, or relationship. Every voice says, “There’s no way”. That’s the point where you’ll stand to speak through your victory. “Even if everything is saying no way, I know my redeemer liveth”, “He’s promised to take away every sickness in my body and heal me, and I believe He can never lie to me”. “I may be down now, but I know my God is putting all plans together for my lifting”. Amen!
SCRIPTURE: But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ, (1 Corinthians 15:57) NIV
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Victory begins in your confession.
In Acts 27:24, Paul and other 276 people were on board sailing to Jerusalem to face Caesar, and they encountered a huge storm with hurricane-force winds. The waves were so big that for 14 days they didn’t see the sun nor the stars. But in the middle of the storm an angel appeared to Paul, and said to him, “Don’t be afraid Paul, for you will surely stand before Caesar. God in his goodness has granted safety to everyone sailing with you”.
Paul had this promise that he would make it to Rome, but all the circumstances said he would never get there. Everywhere he looked – the winds, the waves, the crew – said he wasn’t going to make it.
Beloved, are you in the middle of any storm, and it looked everything is impossible, no sign of things improving? Power up your faith just like Paul; even when the waves were slashing him in the face and the wind was so strong, he could have been depressed and complaining like others. Instead, he was talking about what God promised, he was speaking life in the face of death, he was talking victory in the middle of defeat. Stay Motivated!
NOTE THIS: Victory begins in your confession.
RESPONSIBILITY: Learn to speak victory with faith all the time.
PRAYER: O LORD, give me the grace to speak victory in every situation, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)
PROPHETIC WORD: Your victory shall happen speedily, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
