SPEAKING OUT YOUR WORRIES IN PRAYER (1)

TIMES OF REFRESHING DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org

DATE: THURSDAY, 5 SEPTEMBER 2024

Sometimes, we carry the weight of worries that seem too heavy, too complicated, or even too personal to share. Life has a way of pressing us with concerns about the future, our families, our health, or just the day-to-day struggles of trying to stay afloat. In times like these, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and isolated, thinking that no one, not even God, could fully understand the depth of our fears. But the beauty of faith is that it invites us into a position where we do not have to carry those burdens alone. In Philippians 4:6, the Bible encourages us,

SCRIPTURE: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” — Philippians 4:6 (NIV)

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: This scripture speaks directly to the heart of worry. It tells us that no matter what we are facing, we can and should bring it to God in prayer. But more than that, it reminds us of the importance of speaking our worries aloud expressing them fully and openly to the One who cares deeply for us. Stay Refreshed!

NOTE THIS: When we speak our worries aloud to God, something powerful happens. It is like taking away a heavy big stone off our body.

RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, the next time you feel the weight of worry pressing on your heart, don’t hesitate to speak it out in prayer. Do not worry about making it perfect. Just be honest, open, and real. Let your words flow from a place of trust, knowing that God is listening—and that He is ready to replace your anxiety with His peace.

PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father, I come before You feeling the weight of my worries. Life feels overwhelming at times, and it is hard for me to see beyond my fears. But I know You’re here, I lay it all at Your feet. Take them away and give me Your peace. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

PROPHETIC WORD: As you speak out your worries to God in prayer, may He answer you and lift your burdens and give you peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
