SHAKE IT OFF, AND MOVE ON

TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org

DATE: FRIDAY 18 JUNE 2021

Too many people go through life thinking somebody owes them something, and as a result of this they live offended. They weren’t raised with silver spoon, and now they are offended at their parents. A friend promised them marriage, and eventually dumped them and married someone else, or maybe they came down with an illness, life wasn’t too easy for them, and they’ve subscribed to anger and bitterness. Now they’re offended even at God—saying “if God is so good, how could He let this happen to me”?

SCRIPTURE: Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense. (Proverbs 19:11) ESV

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Sometimes, people could unavoidably get you offended, but don’t let it recourse to anger and bitterness. Nothing that’s happened to you is a surprise to God. The people that raised you may not have given you everything you needed, life may not have been fair, but that doesn’t mean God isn’t good. God knows what He is doing. Don’t let that ill-feeling take root, thinking that you got cheated. No, you’ve got to shake it off, and move on in life. And when you move on, God will make it up to you. Stay Lifted!

NOTE THIS: Sometimes, people could unavoidably get you offended, but don’t let it recourse to anger and bitterness.

RESPONSIBILITY: Whatever it’s that gets at you and offends you, shake it off and move on.

PRAYER: O LORD, I receive the grace to shake off every trace of anger, bitterness and resentment in my life NOW, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)

PROPHETIC WORD: May the power of God help you to shake off every anger and bitterness, and cause you to move on, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
