SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD (3)
TIMES OF REFRESHING DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: WEDNESDAY, 17 JULY 2024
God promises that when we prioritize His kingdom, He will provide for our needs. Yes, this is true. But it doesn’t mean a life free from challenges but one where God’s grace and blessings are evident even in difficult times. So, let us explore practical steps to seek God’s kingdom first. Number one is “daily devotion”. Spend time each day in prayer and reading the Bible (Ps. 119:105). Let God’s Word guide your thoughts and actions and seek His presence through worship. Number two, “align your goals”: Evaluate your goals and aspirations. Are they aligned with God’s will for your life? Seek God’s guidance in your decisions and be willing to adjust your plans according to His leading (Prov. 3:5-6).
SCRIPTURE: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” — Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Number three, “trust God’s Timing”. Be patient and trust in God’s timing (Rom. 8:28). Sometimes, seeking God’s kingdom means waiting and trusting that He is working behind the scenes for your good. And finally, “learn to serve others”. Jesus exemplified seeking the kingdom of God through serving others (Mark 10:45). Look for opportunities to love and serve those around you. Acts of kindness and compassion reflect God’s love and advance His kingdom on earth. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: When we prioritize His kingdom, He will provide for our needs. Yes, this is true. But it doesn’t mean a life free from challenges but one where God’s grace and blessings are evident even in difficult times.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, make it a habit to seek God daily for the grace needed to face each day’s challenges.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I surrender my goals and aspirations to You. Help me to evaluate them in light of Your will for my life. Give me wisdom to discern Your guidance and the courage to adjust my plans according to Your leading. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
PROPHETIC WORD: As you commit your ways to God, may He establish your plans and direct your steps. n Jesus’ name, Amen.
