SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD (2)

TIMES OF REFRESHING DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org

DATE: TUESDAY, 16 JULY 2024

So, beloved, why should we seek God’s kingdom first? Number one, for purpose and fulfilment. When we seek God’s kingdom, we find our true purpose. We discover that our lives have meaning beyond the temporal and material. Our hearts are filled with a deep sense of fulfillment that nothing else can provide. Number two, for peace and assurance. Trusting in God’s provision brings peace. Instead of being consumed by worry and anxiety, we rest in the assurance that God knows our needs and will take care of us. This divine peace surpasses all understanding and guards our hearts and minds.

SCRIPTURE: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” – Matthew 6:33 (KJV)

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Therefore, the number three reason we should seek God’s kingdom first is for eternal perspective. Seeking God’s kingdom shifts our focus from the temporary to the eternal. We become more mindful of how our actions impact our spiritual growth and the lives of others. Our priorities change, and we invest in what truly matters—loving God and loving people. Stay Refreshed!

NOTE THIS: When God’s kingdom is our priority, our lives gain a clear sense of purpose and direction. Our daily activities and long-term goals align with a higher calling, transcending mere survival or success.

RESPONSIBILITY: So, as you go about your day, ask God for the grace to seek Him always and to prioritize your relationship with Him in all you do.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, help us to align our hearts and minds with Your will. Teach us to prioritize our relationship with You, to hunger and thirst for Your righteousness, and to walk in Your ways. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

PROPHETIC WORD: As we seek God’s kingdom first, may He fill us with His peace that surpasses all understanding, and help us to rest in His promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

BIBLE TEXTS: Matthew 6:33
